Mental health awareness for parents course

This short online course for parents and guardians of secondary school students is an introduction to supporting youth mental health.

The Mental health awareness for parents course was developed by Jigsaw and is proudly endorsed by ESCI – Education Support Centres Ireland.

Taking this 30 minute course will help you identify ways to support youth mental health. It also highlights how we can all be ‘One Good Adults’ for the young people in our lives.

The course is made up of four modules.

1: The changing needs of young people

2: Introduction to mental health

3: Youth mental health in Ireland

4: Promoting and supporting youth mental health for the young people in our lives.

What do I need to take this course?

It’s better to take the course on a computer or laptop, as it will not work properly on mobile phones. You will need your speakers or headphones, as there are videos with sound.

If you don’t have a block of 30 minutes you can save where you’re at and pick up from that point later on. Apart from those things all you need is an interest in youth mental health and off you go.
